We would like to personally invite you to join us as competitors in the 2018 Yachting Cup at San Diego Yacht Club. The regatta will be held on May 4 – 6, 2018. In past years, SoCal teams have been well represented and we are hopeful that this year will be no exception. 

We have already received commitments from several classes, including the new Pac 52 class which has included the 2018 Yachting Cup as part of their season high point series. We would like for your fleet to include the Yachting Cup in your season high point series as well.  

There is a substantial effort by the SDYC, starting with Commodore Mike Dorgan, to continue making the Yachting Cup a signature West Coast event. All aspects of the racing, from rule selection to one design class selection, are in careful review, and improvements are being made. The social, off-the-water, activities are in the planning stages, and this year promises to be better than ever.

The Notice of Race will be posted shortly, in the meantime, enjoy reminiscing last year’s regatta at www.yachtingcup.com. By the way, we are hoping to have typical San Diego spring weather this year, unlike the crazy, stormy weather of 2017 (made for some good war stories, though, didn’t it?).

It is our sincere hope that you will encourage your class and class members to support this fine event and help make it even better in 2018 by adding SDYC Yachting Cup to your fleet’s 2018 sailing calendar.
